The 5th International Linguistics Olympiad

The 5th International Linguistics Olympiad was held in St. Petersburg, Russia from July 31 to August 4, 2007.

15 teams from 9 countries participated, with Spain, Sweden, and USA sending participants for the first time.

Participants competed to solve problems on diverse languages and writing systems including Braille, Movima, Georgian, Ndom, Turkish and Tatar, and Hawaiian.

The jury awarded 12 medals (2 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze), as well as 4 team contest trophies, a team cup for highest average score, and 3 best solution prizes
